Scout, Scout, Scout!
I know that I've mentioned it before, but I'm a jeans and Briar/Renfrew kind of girl. Even on the weekends I like wearing jeans (you can't ride on a motorcycle in a skirt), but I like having a slightly dressier top to wear around town when I'm feeling a little fancier than usual.
That is where the Scout tee comes into play. The two versions I have sewn are lawn fabrics from Mood which are perfect for this "winter" weather on the central coast of California. The weather has been in the seventies and eighties for the last month and it's not exactly sweater weather quite yet.

The directions for the Scout pattern are extremely straightforward and it is a quick sew. There are only a few pattern pieces which made taping the pdf download painless for a pdf hater such as myself. And at $6.50 you can't beat the price!
The insides are so clean! Oh, this is typically when I like to throw out the hashtag: #allfrenchseamedandshit on Instagram. Are there any other people that are into French seaming and shit?

Both look great. French seams are so pretty, I have to avoid the laziness of serging everything
ReplyDeleteThe inside IS perfect and I love the hashtag!
ReplyDeleteGrrr.... My long comment did not post. It said something like, "love your shirts, shoes and lipstick! I need a black leopard print shirt for work (plain black is so boring."
ReplyDeletePretty French seams! Love them, and love sewing casual stuff. Your versions are fab, I'm sure you'll get loads of wear from them! :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love both of these! Aren't French seams the best?! They're just so tidy!
ReplyDeleteI totally put french seams into all my shit. Love these!
ReplyDeleteI love using french seams on my lighter weight fabrics!!
ReplyDeleteFrench seams are all kinds of rad and stuff- own them! And these are super cute tops- and super neat as well :D
ReplyDeleteTotally into French seaming and shit here too. Gorgeous tees!!
ReplyDeleteFrench seams are THE BEST! Use 'em whenever I can.
ReplyDeleteSuper gorgeous!! And pretty insides too?! Can't beat that! I think french seams are the best on lightweight fabrics, but I have to say, since I've got my serger it's turned me into a lazy sewist! These days, the only time I french my seams (haha) is when I'm too lazy to switch out the color of my serger thread... ohhhh the laziness...
ReplyDeletePretty pretty!!
ReplyDeleteI bloody love lawn. It's perfect for so many garments! That black is foxy!
ReplyDeletePs. Ooh yes French seams are the shizz
ReplyDeletei used to frenchseamtheshitoutta ERRRRTHANG when i was on my featherweight, yo. the overlocker, she is a temptress!
ReplyDeletebeautiful scouts, i love the fancy pants version!
Girl, you have mad skills! I can be so sloppy when it comes to my own clothing. I'm a jeans/comfy girl as well. Now I have an excuse to look into the Scout tee.
ReplyDeleteI really like both of these. And I also am a fan of French seams - I only just managed to make a top with all French seams as I usually forget for small seams like the shoulders as I'm so desperate to finish quickly! It's so lovely when it's all neat though :)
ReplyDeleteI'm on a Scout roll right now and I always think of your hashtagging when I'm french seaming.... and shit!
ReplyDeleteHell yeah, I love that!
