Art Against Alzheimer's.
I don't want to delve too much into Brandon's personal life because it's not my place, but Alzheimer's has played a big role in the last few years of his life. Several years back his dad was diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer's. On Brandon's birthday a bunch of us had dinner at a local restaurant and then headed out to our cars. As his dad was walking across the street a drunk driver slammed into him in front of all of us. Many bones were broken and he immediately went from the early stages of Alzheimer's to the advanced stages. He passed away a couple of years later.
Since then Brandon and his family have been big supporters of the Alzheimer's Association and Brandon has been making paintings to raise money. Please e-mail him at chimp_laugh@hotmail.com if you are interested in ordering. If you would like to donate you can do so here.

My grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer's when I was young. As a result, I never really got to know him - and he barely remembered me. It was heartbreaking, especially for my mom :( I can't imagine watching a parent go through that, it must be so hard :(
ReplyDeleteGood for Brandon, for raising money for such an important cause! I wish I had enough to get one of those awesome paintings, but times is tight right now so my donation is pretty tiny. Every little bit counts though, I guess :)
Lauren, you seriously made my day! Thank you so much for donating!!! You are right, every bit counts, I saved all the spare change that customers would leave at my work and gave it to Brandon :) XOXO
DeleteAnd Brandon says "thank you" too!
Deletethank you so much for your donation!! you guys are right, every little bit counts!!!
Deleteoh by the way this is brandon, hahahahah!!!
DeleteThis is so cool! I love the artwork! Two of my uncles both had early-onset Alzheimer's, and they both passed away a few years ago. It's such a heart-breaking disease. I'm glad Brandon has found such a unique way to raise some cash for the Alzheimer's Association!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear that, Ginger.
DeleteOh Alzheimer's is tragic :(
ReplyDeleteSo good of you both to help the cause like this.
It's all Brandon! :)
